Delta Network Status

October 1, 2023,

Dear Valued Patient,

First, let us thank you for choosing Trummer Family Dentistry for your dental care. We’ve always tried to provide affordable and exceptional service: from working as a cohesive and friendly team to using quality dental materials and the best regional dental labs.

Over the last few years, it has become increasingly difficult to practice as in-network providers for Delta Dental and continue to provide the level of care that we want to deliver to our patients.

As a result of this challenging environment, we have made the difficult decision to go “out of network” with Delta Dental Insurance plans. This change will take place on January 1, 2024.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU?

• Can you still see us? YES! Even if you decide to remain with Delta Dental after January 1, 2024.

•  Will you file my insurance claims? YES! We will continue to electronically file your Delta Dental claims for your reimbursement as a courtesy to you, and as we will be "out of network" for Delta Dental, they will reimburse you directly, subject to their allowances (usually within 14 days). You will be asked to take care of your account with our practice.

• Can I change to another insurance plan during open enrollment (October-December) that will minimize my initial investment at the time of service? YES! Most dental insurance plans will reimburse us even as "out of network" care providers.  You will need to do your due diligence to determine what plan is best for you. We can offer guidance on some other plans.

• Do I need dental insurance? NO! Half of our patients, or more, prefer not to spend their dollars on monthly dental insurance premiums and pay as needs occur, including their preventive visits. If you feel you are a low-risk dental patient, you may find that you save in the long run NOT having dental coverage. Prevention is key.

We hope that the care you have received from us and the partnership that we have built as advocates for your oral health will encourage you to continue with our practice. However, if you choose to seek care elsewhere, please let us know and we will help with the transition and will welcome you back anytime!

Thank you in advance for understanding and please call us at 717-632-6565 with any questions regarding this change, effective January 1, 2024.

Sincerely,

Your Smile Team at Trummer Family Dentistry
